A new Palestinian City

26.02.2010 | by Marisa Mazria Katz

I just came back from a few days in Jerusalem/Ramallah/Tel Aviv. It was good to head back into Ramallah. I used to go regularly until 2007, but then returned to NYC and haven’t been able to go back since. I was so impressed with the new Rawabi development. It is really what the Palestinian state needs. The undertaking is spearheaded by Bashar Masri (distant cousin?? after all Mazria was Masri before the men at Ellis Island had their way with it) and a division of the Qatari government. The US is also offering some help as well–particularly in structuring mortgages (don’t worry I have a feeling there won’t be a Fannie Mae repeat here).

Read all about my visit HERE.

Below are some pictures from the day.
