NY Review of Books |Israel's War on Culture
In January, I visited Israel with my incredible writing partner, Mairav Zonszein, to pen a piece for the New York Review of Books. The article brings together many stories of Israeli and Palestinian artists that have been deeply affected by the last several years of censorship and further nationalist-Right drift happening in the country.
Here I am photographing the poet Dareen Tatour who was arrested for a poem she posted on her Facebook page.
You can read our comprehensive analysis of the struggles for artists here.
With thanks to Artis for supporting the trip with a research grant.
